AIGA Richmond

The biggest problem with a volunteer driven organization is that, well, no one gets paid. Despite the dedication of the of the AIGA Richmond Board members (including our own Phil Hertzler), the old site was perpetually out of date, in short because paid work always comes first. It's hard to blame anybody for that, but the site redesign sought to remedy this by allowing the non-web Board members to update the site's content — the time-sensitive Events section in particular — directly through a content management system. To take it a step further, the site now includes new ways for the Board to communicate directly with the community and automates the management of their ever growing mailing list. Oh, and it saves the chapter money, too. Not bad.
