Virginia State Bar

The Virginia State Bar's website is simply the largest site that we have ever developed! The old site, which was roughly the same size, was managed entirely using WYSIWYG tools and old fashioned FTP. Fine when you have a dozen pages, but difficult to manage when you have a few hundred.

The new CMS solution allows their content editors to publish directly without the need to fool with the code, or worry about changing links to new pages site wide. To keep content up-to-date, they can now set expiration dates on News and Events items so they drop out of the site automatically. The result of all this is that it keeps their web folks focused on publishing the content their members want and need, instead of keeping up with maintenance. This site represents hands-down, our most complex implementation of the Expression Engine CMS to date.

The CMS meshes with our lightweight, standards-based code and user-centered design to produce a site that's great to look at, and easy to use. As a State requirement (and a good citizen effort), the site also validates for web accessibility. We like to think we thought of it all on this one.
